Rising from the ashes…what is Greensboro Is Talking?
Greensboro Is Talking (GIT) was originally founded in July of 2003 but didn’t really take off until 2004 during the rise of the local Greensboro blogosphere. GIT founder Dan Romuald aka “TheShu” provided some social commentary on the blog but spent most of his time “bloghunting” i.e. using the tools available at the time to track down new Greensboro and Triad area bloggers and promoting them to the larger Greensboro community.
Unfortunately, a database crash in early 2007 took the site offline. Early efforts to restore the database were unsuccessful and that, coupled with, admittedly a lack of enthusiasm, kept the site down until 2010. Maybe someday we’ll get the archives back online. Maybe not.
For right now, we’re focusing on the effort to bring Google Fiber to Greensboro…but beyond that, who knows what the future holds.
